Completing their group stage unbeaten following a 97-55 victory over Nigeria, the Australian Boomers are headed to the Semi-Finals of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Jesse Wagstaff is set to play in the Semi-Final at the Commonwealth Games, so that dream of a gold medal to go with a fifth NBL championship ring is in his sights.
Jesse told the Canberra Times “The chance of getting a gold medal is exciting, just getting that chance and pulling on that singlet, I’m beyond words for excitement and just looking forward to it.”
“I wasn’t exactly expecting the call-up but it’s a huge honour. It’s a huge honour representing your country at any level let alone on home soil, and let alone at a Comm Games as well, so super exciting”.
Australia will take on the winner of Nigeria/Scotland on Saturday morning and then play off for either gold or bronze on Sunday morning.
