Sarah Wright (Class of 2009) – opens Saloon, Canberra’s first blow dry bar
Located on Lonsdale Street in the Ori Building is Saloon, Canberra's first ever blow dry bar, which offers up a beauty service menu alongside a wine list.
The Canberra Times reported that “like any good bar, the shelves at Braddon’s newest bar are stacked with clean wine glasses, but they also have to share shelf space with hair products, blow dryers and brushes”. Saloon is the newest occupant on the booming Lonsdale street, owned by Sarah Wright and her business partner Jaki Bradley. The main service is the blow dry, which is $50 no matter the length of your hair, and you can choose from a ‘menu’ of blow outs, each named after nineties supermodels.
The bar is stocked predominantly with local drinks plus mimosas for morning appointments.
