Omer Siddiq (Class of 2017) gives back through sweet community partnership

Posted 19 Aug, 2026

A proud Canberran and member of the Radford College community, Omer Siddiq (Class of 2017) has built Holy Cow Gelato into a popular local business while maintaining a strong commitment to giving back. His latest initiative sees Holy Cow Gelato partnering with Roundabout Canberra, a charity that provides essential baby and children’s items to families experiencing vulnerability and hardship across the region.

The collaboration centres on a limited-edition S’mores gelato flavour, with 100 per cent of proceeds from every scoop donated to Roundabout Canberra. The flavour features a cookies-and-cream base layered with biscuit pieces and topped with house-made Nutella and marshmallow sauces, creating a treat that is as meaningful as it is delicious.

For Omer, the initiative reflects values that resonate strongly with the Radford community: service, leadership and making a positive impact. Inspired by a desire to support the city that has shaped his personal and professional journey, Omer sought a meaningful way to contribute to local families in need. After learning more about Roundabout Canberra’s work and visiting its warehouse, he recognised an opportunity to use his business as a force for good.

Roundabout Canberra supports thousands of children and families by redistributing high-quality donated items such as prams, cots, car seats, clothing and school supplies through an extensive network of community partners. The organisation’s work helps ensure children have access to the essentials they need to feel safe, warm and included.

Roundabout Canberra Founder and CEO Hannah Andrevski said the S’mores flavour was chosen because it represents warmth, comfort and security, qualities that align closely with the charity’s mission.

As a member of the Class of 2017, Omer’s journey from Radford College student to local business owner demonstrates the impact Radford alumni continue to have across Canberra. Through this collaboration, he is not only supporting families in need but also showcasing how business, community and generosity can come together to create meaningful change.

The partnership is a reminder that leadership extends beyond the classroom and that even a simple scoop of gelato can help strengthen the community. Radford College congratulates Omer on this initiative and his commitment to supporting fellow Canberrans.
