We are proud to celebrate Jake Smith (Class of 2023) as he takes an exciting next step in his cricketing journey, signing with East Torrens District Cricket Club for the upcoming season.

Jake, an ACT‑based all‑rounder, brings strong credentials to the South Australian Premier Cricket competition. He bowls leg spin, bats confidently in the middle order, and has already built an impressive record through representative and grade cricket.

Jake’s cricketing pathway began and flourished at Radford, where he:

  • Played a key role in the First XI Cricket program, known for his consistency with the bat and his ability to take crucial wickets.
  • Represented Radford and the ACT in school‑based representative competitions, demonstrating leadership and maturity on and off the field.
  • Contributed significantly to team culture, earning the respect of coaches and peers for his discipline, humility and team‑first approach.
  • Progressed through Radford’s cricket development pathway, laying the groundwork for his transition into senior cricket.

After graduating in 2023, Jake continued to rise through the ranks:

  • Representing the ACT in the State Shield Second XI Competition.
  • Playing 1st Grade cricket for the Australian National University Cricket Club in Canberra.
  • Establishing himself as a versatile and reliable all‑rounder at senior level.

These achievements have now paved the way for his move to East Torrens, where he will continue to develop and compete at a high level.

Jake’s journey reflects the strength of Radford’s sporting pathways and the determination of a young athlete committed to continuous improvement. The Collegians community is proud to support him as he embarks on this next chapter.

We wish Jake every success for the season ahead and look forward to following his progress with East Torrens.
