The book named HIll is the story of Gossan Hill and what came before

We are thrilled to share that Katie Taylor has secured a new book deal with Shooting Star Publishers for her latest work, Hill.

Katie achieved a bachelor’s in communications at the University of Canberra and returned to obtain a Master of Information Studies in 2012.

Katie published her first work, The Land of Bad Fantasy, through Scholastic when she was just 18, and went on to publish The Dark Griffin in Australia and New Zealand five years later. The Griffin’s Flight and The Griffin’s War followed in the same year and were released in America and Canada in 2011. The Shadow’s HeirThe Shadowed Throne and The Shadow’s Heart have now joined them in both Australia and the US. Katie collects movie soundtracks and keeps pet rats and isn’t quite as angst-ridden as her books might suggest. She enjoys making (often weird) cuddly toys as a hobby and sells them privately at conventions.

Her achievements so far include being named Young Distinguished Alumni of the Year from the University of Canberra in 2011, winning the Critic’s Award that same year, and being shortlisted for the Aurealis Awards in 2009 for The Dark Griffin.

For Shooting Star Katie has authored Hill and the forthcoming 4 book series Drachengott.

Katie, a celebrated author known for her ability to capture rich landscapes and human emotion with honesty and depth, continues to build her literary reputation with this highly anticipated release. Hill is set to bring readers a powerful new story that explores themes of resilience, belonging, and the quiet strength found in unexpected places.

Adding to the excitement, Katie will be joining us at the Radford College Twilight Fete, where she will be selling her books and promoting Hill. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the author, hear more about her inspiration, and take home a signed copy of her work.

The partnership with Shooting Star Publishers marks another milestone in Katie’s career, and we cannot wait to celebrate her success at the upcoming Twilight Fete.

Where are you now?
