Father Richard Browning farewells Radford College.

What you say, what you do, what you are, may help those in ways you’ll never know. Your influence, like your shadow, extends where you may never be (Unknown).

What you say, what you do, what you are, may help those in ways you’ll never know. Your influence, like your shadow, extends where you may never be. These words could not be more true of Father Richard Browning.

Father Richard has been part of the Radford College community for close to 15 years sharing his truth, compassion and wisdom and in just a few days he will be finishing his time as chaplain at the College.

Over the last few weeks there has been a number of services held at the College to acknowledge the impact and service of Father Richard. It is at these services that I have observed how Father Richard engages and inspires everyone around him. His energy and enthusiasm for life is inspirational and you walk away feeling that little bit better about your day. I strongly believe that if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more than you are a leader and Father Richard certainly was a leader.

A notable service was at the Year 12 Final Chapel where Father Richard was impersonated by a Year 12 student (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all) and a beautiful speech was shared about the impact that Father Richard had on every individual within that cohort.

Father Richard will be commuting between Canberra and Brisbane and in 2020 will be working with student leaders for the Dirrum Festival and return to Timor one last time.

In the latest Radford bulletin, Father Richard said “my task as chaplain is simple: be among the community, love big and be faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the values of the College! It is very easy to love the students. I am so deeply grateful for the love and care, grace and forgiveness extended to me by this community. I am so richly blessed by you lot. It is very hard to leave”. You can read the full message from Father Richard here .

Where are you now?
