What does life look for you now?

I am married with two children who i am happy to say are attending Radford

I am working at the Australian Communications & Media Authority in the information management space

I am deeply involved in netball, both as an umpire (doing commercial competitions and State League) and a coach (of my childrens' team at Radford)

Tell us what you are passionate about?

I am passionate about creating the conditions for people to achieve their best, no matter what their goal is.

When you were young, what were you hoping to be when you grew up?

I was never really that sure what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had such varied interests and they were all equally important to me.

What is your favourite Radford moment?

I have many Radford moments that I look back at with fondness and/or laughter. No one moment sticks out to me.

Do you have a particular role model or inspirational figure from Radford or now?

There are many folks who were inspirational for me while at Radford - chief among these there were Jock McKinnon and Jenny Murphy.

I find my family inspirational - my wife (Christine) and my children (Henry & Lydia) - because of the way they approach life and the positive attitude they have in everything they do.

For many reasons the public figure I find inspirational is Richard Branson. I am particularly inspired by a) how he uses his curiosity to spark positive changes and b) his humanity.

How easy was it to decide what to do in life?

It was a journey and continues to be so.

Did your further study or career go exactly as you'd planned?

No, but that's okay. Along the way I learned so much that I have been able to use. Life is a journey and rather than blindly sticking to a goal; I have made the most of every opportunity.

What advice do you have for current students?

Follow what interests you and makes you happy...
You will always shine when you get to be in a space/job/role that makes you happy.

Anything else that you would like to share?

I would love to share an article by an article by Peter F Drucker that was truly inspirational for me (see my above quote) and helped me to decide what to do in line... see the attached file.

Where are you now?
