What does life look for you now?
I live in Melbourne with my wife Megan and four children. We ended up in Melbourne around 1999 so we're all but Victorian now.
Tell us what you are passionate about?
Outside of the work and family focus, I've recently rediscovered a hobby from my youth: Wargaming. It's great to do something creative that connects me with others including my children. Now if only I could get my wife interested...
What is your favourite Radford moment?
I loved the Year 9 Outward Bound Adventure Camp
Do you have a particular role model or inspirational figure from Radford or now?
I don't know if we were particularly lucky, but I managed to connect with and therefore respected so many of the teachers I had at Radford. If I started listing them all I'd probably be here all day!
How easy was it to decide what to do in life?
Like many people, my life now feels largely a matter of chance decisions as anything. Every decision leads to the next and rarely did a big plan come into play. That has kept things exciting over the years.
Did your further study or career go exactly as you'd planned?
I found the transition from High School/College to Uni difficult - in retrospect I likely would have likely been better served to take a break and to come in fresh. Rather than pursuing further Degrees etc, I've tended towards work-related training and expertise. I've found that I learn best when the lesson is both relevant and practical to me 'here-and-now'.
What do you know now, that you wish you'd known when you were at Radford?
That there is an exciting world outside of Canberra BUT Canberra has a lot to offer as well. No place is 'perfect', what you get out of life is what you invest in.
