Radford Collegians celebrates International Women’s Day with “Give to Gain” networking breakfast
The Radford Collegians proudly marked International Women’s Day 2026 with a special networking breakfast and panel discussion, bringing together staff, students, parents and members of the wider Radford community to celebrate the achievements of women and reflect on the theme of “Give to Gain.”
Held at the college, the event provided an opportunity for meaningful conversation, connection and inspiration, highlighting the importance of empowering women through leadership, collaboration and community engagement.
Guests heard from a panel of inspiring collegian speakers, Jacinta Maddigan (Class of 2003), Ashleigh Foster (Class of 2005) and Kate Lis-Clarke (Class of 2008) and inspiring key note speaker, Chiaka Barry MLA who generously shared personal reflections on their professional journeys including the challenges they have faced, the lessons they have learned, and the opportunities that have shaped their careers. Their stories offered valuable insight and encouragement to students and professionals alike, reinforcing the importance of resilience, purpose and supporting one another.
The morning was expertly hosted by Radford College Community Captains, Caela and Simon who welcomed guests and helped facilitate the discussion, demonstrating the strong leadership and confidence of the College’s student body.
A key focus of the event was supporting Possible Dreams International, an Australian-based charity working alongside communities in Eswatini to address poverty, food insecurity and access to education. Through ticket purchases and generous donations from attendees, the Radford community raised $540 in support of the organisation’s ongoing work.
The event reflected the strength of the Radford community and its commitment to fostering a culture where women and girls are encouraged to pursue leadership, contribute meaningfully to society and support others along the way.
Through events such as these, the College continues to champion the values of community, leadership and service, inspiring the next generation to lead with confidence and purpose.
