For Nony, the inspiration for her career and life, in general, comes in the form of her late grandmother, a “strong woman” who travelled extensively solo.

International Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8th of March every year around the world. It is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights.

Nony Edwards (Class of 2003) was celebrated by Capital Airport Group in a touching article that shined the light on 3 out of the 68 women that work with the organisation every single day.

Nony is an Assistant Project Manager at Capital Estate Developments, she shared that whilst the property industry is definitely male-dominated, she has found that as a women that she brings a unique perspective to the projects she works on.

For Nony, the inspiration for her career and life, in general, comes in the form of her late grandmother, a “strong woman” who travelled extensively solo.

“She worked hard during her life,” Nony says.

She volunteered her time towards organisations and stood up for causes and people that she valued in both South Africa and Australia.

“Oh – and she loved watching the occasional rugby union test match too”.

“I hope I can live up to her memory and be an independent strong woman that she can be proud of.”
