What does life look for you now?

I am married with 2 children and until recently lived in Kaleen. I am a director at Nexis Accountants and Business Advisors.

Tell us what you are passionate about?

I play golf whenever I can fit in a round and love to cook. I love my work and ensure that it gives me the freedom and time to enjoy my personal life and spend time with my family. I also really enjoy teaching and lead a number of Chartered Accountants courses.

When you were young, what were you hoping to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a lawyer.

How easy was it to decide what to do in life?

I fell in to it a bit. I knew I wanted to study law, but wasn't sure what to do with it. I decided Commerce largely because we went on a Radford commerce excursion to Pizza Hut! Food has always ruled!

The friends I met at Uni were moving into accounting roles and I applied for some graduate jobs and then found myself a qualified accountant. Making decisions based on what I enjoy has been the best way to ensure that I am in a role that I love.

What do you know now, that you wish you'd known when you were at Radford?

Understanding the workforce and different professions would have been really useful. The aptitude testing we did in year 10 or 11 basically told you what you might like to do / be good at, but didn't really explain the realities of what you will be doing each day.

Where are you now?
