Based back in Canberra after 6 years away, working for Defence

I write novels in my spare time, and engage with just about every craft hobby under the sun

YouTuber, food critic and teacher

Year 9 camp
Do you have a particular role model or inspirational figure from Radford or now?

How easy was it to decide what to do in life?
I thought I knew what I wanted to do - got to university and decided I wanted to do something a little different. Changer courses twice, dropped out of uni, went to TAFE instead, and now I’m about to go back for a combined Bachelor/Masters… so we got there in the end!
Did your further study or career go exactly as you'd planned?
No. I got into the course I originally applied for, did a year and a half of it before realising it was not where my passion was so I changed directions slightly. COVID hit and Uni wasn’t for me anymore, so I dropped out to work full time before deciding to go to TAFE to get my Cert III.
Now after being in Canberra and working for the APS, I’m heading back to uni to do a completely different degree but I’m excited!
What do you know now, that you wish you'd known when you were at Radford?
That the ATAR isn’t only one way to get into Uni, I didnt even need mine in the end.
What advice do you have for current students?
Take time for yourself. You can’t be going at 100% all the time, you need time to rest and reset.
